The group decided to attempt a project over the summer period of 2015. The idea would be to try to document as many events taking place in Willington and the surrounding area as possible. In addition we would contact various businesses to see if they would allow us in to take some images. In this way the project would give some documentary substance to what happened in the town over this particular summer period.
Sue, our acting secretary, did a great job of contacting organisations and businesses to see if they would be happy to give us an official invitation. The plan was to have 3 or 4 members of the club go to do the shoot. It was an opportunity for members of the club to try doing something they hadn’t done before. In the event, we all learnt something about our hobby, about what happens in the town and probably, something about ourselves.
There is a galleries of images from each shoot. This is a relatively small number of images as we took between 3 and 4,000 in all !
We are hoping to put an exhibition together for Spring 2016 which will showcase a selected smaller number of images. We are currently looking for suitable locations in and around Willington and further afield. If you know of any location or organisation that might be willing to allow us to exhibit, please contact us using the comment form.
In addition, exhibitions can work out quite costly and we would like to keep the cost of the exhibition down to a minimum for members. If you able to contribute or know of any grants that may be available to us, again, please contact us.
